Dr. Michelle Vartanian
DMichelle Vartanian, O.D. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Gerontology from the University of California, Los Angeles. After receiving her Doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Vartanian began clinical rotations at the Wellish Eye Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was managing pre and post surgery Lasik, PRK and cataracts surgeries. Furthermore, she saw patients at the VA West Los Angeles Hospital and VAOC seeing patients with Glaucoma, Diabetes and other ocular diseases. Dr. Vartanian does comprehensive eye exams, contact lens examinations and is glaucoma certified and licensed to treat ocular diseases.
Prior to arriving at Wink Optometry, Dr. Vartanian was an active participant in the Gift of Sight Program which provides free eye exams and eyeglasses to patients in need. As an active member of the community, Dr. Vartanian enjoys donating her time to several charities and organizations throughout Greater Los Angeles. She was recently selected Who’s Who among Young Doctors in America.
Dr. Vartanian is a passionate Optometrist dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to patients with more than 16 years of experience. She has a warm chairside manner, is friendly and a caring healthcare provider with excellent customer service skills. She is constantly striving to further educate and apply the acquired knowledge, work ethic, and values gained by clinical experience. Dr. Vartanian advocates patient education and providing the highest quality of care in assisting patients to achieve their best possible vision.
Dr. Joshua A. Corben
Joshua A. Corben graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Biology. While at ASU, he did extensive research in the area of Cell Biology specializing in Human Corneal wound healing. He attained his Doctor of Optometry from The inter-American School of Optometry in 2002. With his training & knowledge of the cornea, he takes special pride in teaching his patients critical information pertaining to refractive surgery. He is the past-president of the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society. He was awarded the prestigious “2009 Young Optometrist Of the Year in California” by the California Optometric Association and has recently been appointed to the Interview Committee of his School of Optometry. Dr. Corben is fluent in Spanish and actively spends time in the Santa Monica area providing free eye exams for the homeless. Dr. Corben is also a guest lecturer for the College of the Canyons Nursing School and writes a monthly editorial in The Magazine of Santa Clarita. When he is not working he enjoys cycling, and most importantly spending time with his wife and two children.
Dr. Matthew Alpert
Dr. Matthew Alpert graduated with clinical honors from the New England College of Optometry, in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Alpert earned the prestigious California Optometric Associations, Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2002, for providing superior care to his patients, community and the profession of Optometry. He is the past president of the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society and was a board member for over 12 years. Dr Alpert was featured on the Emmy award winning television program The Doctors. The American Optometric Association chose Dr. Alpert to be the liaison for the “Eye on Nutrition” awareness campaign, where he was featured on national television, discussing the role of nutrition and ocular health. Dr. Alpert served on the founding advisory board for the TLC laser eye center in Encino, California. Currently Dr. Alpert is serving on the Board of Directors of VSP Global, the largest managed vision care company in the United States, with over 70 million members. As Chairman of Optometric Innovation Dr Alpert serves to connect emerging technologies in the vision care industry to VSP’s 30 thousand panel doctors and 70 million members. Dr Alpert worked intimately with Google on professional education and retail distribution of Google Glass. Recently Dr Alpert returned from his second trip to Soweto South Africa developing the We See Child Health Project where 30 thousand underserved children will now receive critical eye care services. He has been a delegate to the California Optometric Associations, Congress and President’s council.
Cathrine Barker - O.D.
A native of Glendale, California, Dr Barker received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Barker graduated with honors at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton and has practiced optometry for over 20 years. She is trained in full scope optometry, pediatrics, fitting contacts and medical complications in the eye such as infections and glaucoma. She is a caring doctor who loves to educate her patients regarding their vision and health. She loves to hike with her husband, twin sons and their crazy dog.
Diane - Optician
Diane has well over 20 years of experience as an optician. She has been with Wink since the office opened in 2009. Diane is pleasant and ready to answer all your questions regarding eyewear and contact lenses. She enjoys spending time outdoors when not working.
Jenny - Optician
Jenny has nearly a decade of experience in the optical industry. She is very friendly and assists with pre-testing, scheduling appointments, eyeglass sales, and is ready to answer your questions. She has a finance degree from California State University, Northridge. In her spare time, she enjoys the gym, cooking and baking, and spending time with her fiancé and their 2 dogs.
